We came to the conclusion that there is so much furniture in good condition to online classified, web sites like Craig's List and other avenues that crazy price to pay for new furniture.
Our oldest child has just married. Shortly after their marriage they moved across the United States. We want to make sure it is comfortable and welcoming for them to come for extended visits, so we decided to buy a queen size bed and put it in our youngest son in the room. We are a small children's room with one bed each, probably not a good idea for newlyweds.
I spent some time at the furniture stores checking out the options. I wanted to do this son of room in the cabin subject so I was looking for a pine log furniture. a friend suggested that I watch online. I was floored, it was a couple of options at a fraction of the cost. We bought a five piece set that was probably sold new for more than four thousand dollars originally, we spent $ 600. We got a queen bed, armoire, two end tables and wooden benches, all in reasonable used condition. Our second son has a wood shop at school and is sanded and refinished for us. It looks almost good as new for a fraction of the price. We will probably check the mattress here locally in Burlington, Vermont at a discount warehouse for sanitary reasons.
No new furniture for our good, solid, used furniture with a little love him the way to go. Ten times more furniture for the dollar. I think we will begin reselling the things we have and starting over!
