Sony DSC W35 Review

Sony DSC W35 is a compact, seven-megapixel digital camera. She performed well in my tests, especially outdoors. Other important factors include the fact that it is easy to use and it is also one of the cheaper pocket sized cameras available.

Looking at the test photos I took with the DSC W35 I can not really see any major problems when you are taking photos outdoors in decent light. This suggests that if you are looking for a discreet digital camera that is on vacation, then this might be worth a close look. Compared with other digital cameras with a similar price tag I found the sharpness better than what I normally see. When the zoom lens is not used at all or if it is fully extended a slight decrease in the level of sharpness towards the edges of images. In addition I have very little to complain about.

for a portrait shot again, I found the camera performed well as long as there was sufficient lighting levels. Within the poorer the light the camera can struggle a bit. This is especially true if you move toward the edge of the flash range. This is only 2m when using the zoom lens to its full capacity.

One shot I could not get right is the macro shot. In my test I've taken the photo to watch, but I was able to get a really sharp picture. The camera also struggled to get the right color when you close. You May be able to solve this problem by trying different white balance settings.

The 23mm wide should have little trouble fitting DSC W35 in the pocket. There are slimmer models around, but it's still compact enough.

This is also one of the few pocket sized digital camera includes a viewfinder. Perhaps not surprisingly for a camera of this size required the small side, but it can still come in useful, especially when the bright sunlight was bouncing off the LCD screen. The screen is 2 inches in size. This is less than 2.5 inches, which is all standard sizes.

In terms of features this is a typical point and shoot digital camera. It comes with all the regular features like zoom, taking the film, scene modes, macro and a variety of flash settings.

Sony 56MB memory built in the DSC W35. It was very generous when compared to the 10 to 16MB that many brands offer a rival. It's enough to be about 20 to shoot a still image or a movie images. It gives you theopportunity give cameras a good once before you decide if the right one for you .

for battery powered lithium-ion battery. Sony supplies and battery charger in the box with the camera. If you are concerned about the battery running down just when you need it, you can always buy a spare, but I would recommend making sure the battery is fully charged before you went to all the great pictures.

In the end I was impressed with the Sony DSC W35. It's not often you are able to find a real pocket-sized digital camera available for such low prices. It works well in most situations, and I can see this camera is selling well.
